F.A.Q

CAN I GET A RIDE HOME WHEN I DROP OFF MY CAR?

Yes, we are happy to provide this service to you. We want each customer’s visit to be a positive experience and will work diligently towards that goal. We offer a pickup and delivery service free of charge.

WHERE DO I GET A CLAIM NUMBER?

Claim numbers are issued by your insurance company at the time you report your accident. Just note the claim number and claim representative information and bring it in with you when you come in to begin the repair process. We will handle the rest.

ARE YOU OPEN ON SATURDAY?

We are open on Saturday by appointment only.

WILL THE PARTS BE ORDERED BEFORE I DROP OFF MY CAR FOR REPAIR?

Absolutely. We generally order your vehicle’s parts at the time that we receive the insurance approved preliminary estimate and schedule your vehicle for drop-off. This enables us to provide you a quicker turnaround time.

IF MY VEHICLE'S FRAME IS DAMAGED, IS THE CAR A TOTAL LOSS?

No. A car is a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company’s determined value of your vehicle. Nowadays, most cars are built using unibody (frame and body as one) construction. Our highly skilled technicians, with the aid of our state-of-the-art computer measuring system, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If it is determined that the frame section is bent beyond repair, that section can simply be replaced in some cases.

CAN YOU MATCH MY CAR PAINT COLOR?

Today’s modern factory finishes incorporate multiple layers of highly specialized paints. We have made a major investment in the finest paint system available (BASF) that constantly upgrades its technology and equipment to ensure that each vehicle’s paint matches. We take special pride in our ability to match factory finishes as the final step in the repair process.

CAN I GET OTHER WORK DONE ON MY CAR WHILE IT IS IN THE COLLISION CENTER

Yes. Just let your advisor know what other work you would like done so that he or she can make the necessary arrangements and provide you with an estimated cost.

HOW LONG WILL THE REPAIRS ON MY VEHICLE TAKE?

Your advisor can give you an estimate of the time it will take to complete the repairs to your vehicle. Be sure to check with your advisor for the specifics on your vehicle.

What type of parts do you use?

We always recommend using new OEM parts, however these are generally more expensive than used or aftermarket parts. Unless your insurance coverage includes an OEM Parts Endorsement you can expect the insurer to always specify cheaper parts. Insurers can't require non-OEM parts unless they are equivalent to OEM parts. Someone has to demonstrate to the insurer that specified aftermarket parts are not equivalent to OEM parts. That's where we step in and advocates for your best interests, so you don’t have to.

Why do I have to authorize work even if insurance is paying?

By law, our shop repairs your car for you (the consumer) and the insurance company is not involved in that contract.

My insurance has a preferred repair shop, do I have to use them?

This is called insurance steering. Insurer steering happens when your insurance company tries to persuade you to use a specific repair shop through their Direct Repair Program. This is a contract between a body shop and an insurer to provide reduced repair costs using aftermarket parts that are not genuine OEM parts.

This can compromise your vehicle's safety and lead to costly corrective repairs after the fact. Some insurance companies even have a stake in ownership or have contractual agreements that include concessions that are not in your best interest as a driver. Remember- Only you can approve who carries out your repairs.

Patterson Auto Collision Center goes to bat regularly for our clients to ensure your repairs are done right, and your vehicle is restored to safe driving conditions. We never cut corners with your safety.

Remember to never take advice from someone who owes you money!!!
